Hey! When you think of a newborn girl session, what do you think of? I think of pretty details on headbands, elegant bonnets, and beautiful colors.

Meet Gemma! Isn't this baby girl just a dream!? She's so pretty with those chubby cheeks and beautiful hair. Her newborn session was a model call to photograph some of the new items that I purchased. You see, I've had a LOT of baby boys for the last several years. So, I posted and her mama contacted me for this short session so I could get photos of these new beautiful items.

When we design your session, sometimes it's easier for you to visualize what you want to incorporate with in use photos. Some are very visual and know exactly what they want, while others have no clue and go for neutrals to keep it simple. OR, you can just let me do all of the designing and be surprised. haha! Either way, I'm sure you'll love the turn out since it's of your baby.

Don't forget to book your session with me as early as possible. I book up fast but don't let that scare you if you didn't know. I might be able to fit you in, just reach out.

As always, hugs and love!

Hey mama! What are you doing to get ready for your newborn baby? Has the nesting kicked in yet?

Here are some things that I hear about from new moms, and those that have been a mom for years.

  • Don't sweat the small stuff. We all want to be organized and have the cleanest house on the block, while raising amazing children, but that isn't realistic unless you are super woman. If you are, please let me know your tricks so that I can share them. Instead, love your baby and family now because those dishes and cleaning can wait until you have time.
  • Ask for help. Women always want to do and don't want help. I get it, sometime it's easier to do it because it will get done right. Well, give yourself some grace and let people help you. Some thrive on helping, that is what they live for.
  • Baby proof your house. I know you might be thinking that it's too soon, but once that baby is born you might not have the time or mental capacity to put those locks on cabinets. Get a head start because before you know it baby will be crawling around.
  • Make some freezer meals. If you get started on some meals now, you won't have to think about it for a few weeks.
  • Remember to take a deep breath and remember that you got this. Your baby needs you, and so does your family. If you're feeling down once that baby gets here, please let your medical provider know. Postpartum depression is real and it is nothing that you've done wrong.

Now that I've shared the most common things that I hear at sessions, look at these beautiful babies that I've photographed. If you didn't know this already, I love my job.

Just look at how pretty this baby girl is! Perfect skin, hair, dimples, and chubby cheeks. I see so many newborns that I'm always in awe of their different features. Her sister is a cutie as well!! I mean, these kids have amazing skin and beautiful smiles. So honored to be their photographer!

Wanna walk through booking to the product delivery of this session?

Breanna contacted me to book the session via my website. We discussed session details and what it entailed via text. Mama booked the session and then we had a zoom design appointment to select what to use during the session. In this appointment I walk around the studio showing options and we pick out what will be used during the photo shoot. This can also be done in-person with you and I at the studio, whichever is easiest for you. Fast forward, they came in for their session. A few days later, we met back at the studio for the ordering appointment by viewing the entire gallery. After the selections were made, I completed the hand edits on each image and ordered their products. In the meantime, of waiting for products, I sent an online gallery so that digitals could be downloaded and shared with family and friends. Products arrived and were hand delivered to Sofia and her beautiful family.

I hope to see them back for milestone sessions! But for now, I'm thankful for their business and grateful I was Sofia's newborn photographer.

Hugs and love!

Weston was in for his newborn baby photo shoot session. With a seriously handsome face, light blonde hair, and adorable expressions, he pretty much stole my heart. He was a big baby, with a length of 23.5" at birth. So, when I was thinking about the props that were selected during the design consultation, I wondered if I would need to get creative. Well, he fit in everything just fine. In order to safely pose him in the cute little white chair, his dad was able to hold on to the side of him and then I was able to composite the image (merge 2 images together) so that I could eliminate dad's hand. Hand editing comes in handy so that we can get the perfect shot!

I'm pretty sure that this is the first baby I've ever seen with amazing blonde eyelashes. They were so bright, and I hope they stay that way. His mama is a beautiful blonde so I'm thinking Weston might keep those features. Although, you never know. My sister was born with almost black hair and is blonde now. haha.

As always, babies grow up fast. Moments fleet and memories fade. Capture milestones while you can. I really love when clients return for more milestone sessions, within the first year especially. Ending that baby's first year with portraits, cake, and bath time is always fun!

Welcome to my blog! I'm a southern MN photographer that specializes in maternity, newborn, and family photography.

While I have a pretty big maternity gown, dress, body suit, fabric, and more collection, this dress puts the cherry on top! It can be worn so many different ways and it's so soft. All of the mamas that have worn it so far tell me it's very comfortable. Just look at the photos to see the ways we styled it, but I'm sure there are so many more ways it cane be worn. Over the shoulder, tied around the neck, wrapped around your arms, and much more.

Since there are so many ways to wear it, it looks as if it's a new dress every time. The designer will be adding more colors but I'm not sure when. I hope soon! In the meantime, it's in the client closet for all to use.

Don't wait to book your session. I strive to provide an amazing experience so contact me today!

Hugs and love!

Michelle
