Newborn and family photo shoot!

Hey there! I'm over here in shock that I haven't blogged since May. So, I'm going to blog and blog and blog some more. I have so many sessions to share and I hope you love them as much as I do.

So, in case you didn't know, most of the time people find me on Google. This is one of the couples that found me there, and I'm so thankful that they did. I mean, the love they have for one another is so sweet and then toss an adorable baby boy in the mix to get the sweetest little family! Oh, I can't forget about their fur baby (we met when I delivered their order)!!

Every newborn session is different, I'm sure this isn't a shock. But, some babies are just so chill like this baby boy was. He rocked the session and I loved every minute of it. He made the cutest little bear!

We started with family and then it was baby alone. This way the parents can relax, even take a nap if they'd like. I have a comfy sectional and even the lifestyle bed area is a good spot, especially since we're finished with that area by then. Oh, I can't forget about the snacks and beverages - sparkling water, coffee, hot cocoa, chips, beef jerky and more.

If you're wanting to book a session, contact me now! I book up fast.

Hugs and love!

Michelle

How adorable is this baby boy?! His mama, Emily, is the Executive Director for the Blooming Prairie Chamber of Commerce. I joined the Chamber to get to know the community better and Emily reached out to me with the warmest welcome! Soon after that I found out she was pregnant with her second baby. Fast forward to this sweet baby boy coming in to the studio. I couldn't get over how alert he was. Not only was he awake most of the time, he actually was tracking my every move - just soaking everything in. So smart and sweet!! His big sister was with so of course we had to get her in some. She is a hoot - wanting to hug, love, and hold her baby! As you can see, these kids are super cute. I'm so happy they came in!!

So, mama, if you're pregnant or if you've had your baby, contact me to get in for your session. I usually book up a few months ahead but I might be able to get you in or find another photographer. Don't forget to capture this precious time of their life!

Hugs and love! Michelle

As a newborn photographer, I have a confession. I'm a prop and everything newborn photography related hoarder. I love all of the little things. Little beds, little baskets, little bonnets, little stuffies. It's all so cute and I love having so much to select from. Having recently moved my studio made me realize more than ever that I have a lot.

Do you ever wonder where these props and things come from? Well, sometimes I make my own but most of the time I leave it up to the masters. The people that have put all of their time and effort into perfecting their craft get all of my respect and lots of my money. Some of the detail is insane, and honestly I don't have patience for crafting some of the items I buy. Yes, I can sit there with a newborn for hours waiting to capture the perfect shot. But, no, I cannot bring myself to knit - I've tried. haha!

Here is a list of just a few of the amazing vendors that I've purchased some of my items from. Visit their sites and see what I mean.

A few of the little beds that I have are from the amazing Luneberry! They have beds, baskets, chairs, buckets, flokatis and more. https://www.luneberry.com/

All of my posing pieces and some of my wraps with matching headbands are from Hello Little Props. Oh, and I can't forget about their bucket and bucket huggers. https://hellolittleprops.com/

Most of my backdrops and wraps are from Fancy Fabrics and Props. They are simply the best and I'm so happy I found them. The fuzzier the better, because I love texture in photos. https://fancyprops.com/

I know that was just a few. There are more places that I buy from but mainly the ones that I've listed above. If you have a question about something in a photo, please ask and I'll try to remember where I bought it. lol

We all need a break from this frozen tundra we call Minnesota, so I thought I would share more sunflower photos! Am I alone when I say spring cannot get here soon enough?! Stay warm and remember this is temporary. Minnesota is truly a beautiful place to live so putting up with this harsh weather seems daunting, but really it's worth it.

Here are some suggestions of things to do on super cold days:

Put a puzzle together! I found this beautiful sunflower puzzle on amazon - sunflower puzzle

Watch a movie - One of my favs is You, Me, and Dupree. It's funny and the weather is gorgeous! Link to trailer

Read a book - There's a good list on Oprah's book club website

Organize - This is something I've been doing for the last month and I've had some help from HGTV

Think warm thoughts and don't forget to exist in photos!!
